There may be some cringe-worthy moments at California’s fringe festivals, but just remember that beauty, comedy and entertainment are in the eye of the beholder. Fringe festivals include acts that don’t fit in a particular box and in some cases may be “far out.” Fresno’s Rogue Festival, a non-juried fringe festival, launches its 15th season on March 3, 2016 with over 70 acts in 300 performances. The 10-day event in the Tower District takes place at clubs, theatres, coffee shops, art galleries, and businesses with a patio that can be converted to a performance area. With a mission to bring works that are imaginative, innovative, and enriching, Rogue Festival strives to foster strong relationships in the community by joining local businesses, audiences, and performers to share the gift of human creativity. That’s hug-worthy!
