Do you remember the Truffle Huntress? Probably not. She and her truffle sniffing dogs who discovered a black Périgord truffle in El Dorado County, are appearing this weekend at California’s premier truffle event — Napa Truffle Festival. Tickets are sold for truffle dinners and farm tours, but, as always, the Napa Truffle Festival Marketplace at Oxbow Public Market on Monday, Jan. 16 is FREE!
Also this weekend is the Fungus Fair (ffsc.us) in Santa Cruz taking place Jan.13-15. Learn about medicinal mushrooms, watch cooking demos and meet mycologists and authors of the new, “Mushrooms of the Redwood Coast,” a guide to local fungi. The wildly popular Santa Cruz Fungus Fair celebrates its 43rd year in 2017.
