Perhaps you’ve never been to a ComicCon event, but you probably know about Hello Kitty, a cute fictional character seen in cartoons and on fashion products created and marketed by Sanrio. Though “Kitty” turns 40 in 2014, her longevity and fame are not ordinary among the feline crowd. Her popularity reportedly yields around $5 billion in sales annually. It’s easy to see why this extraordinary kitten is so compelling when you visit the new, interactive experience and pop-up shop called ‘Hello Kitty Fashion Music Wonderland’, which makes its debut appearance July 18-20, 2013 at Comic-Con Interactive Zone at Petco Park. Fans of all ages are invited to a colorful, anime-rich experience that includes fun activities, limited edition products, and special appearances by Hello Kitty. Colorfully styled from head to toe, Hello Kitty’s band of Lolitas will cheerfully greet and guide fans through the experience. Explore the pop-up shop offering a mix of event-only and limited edition Japanimation-themed collectible Hello Kitty items including the first-ever Hello Kitty graphic novel by VIZ Media, highly exclusive plush, apparel and accessories as well as a special collectors’ pin set. Comic-Con badge holders can visit Kitty-chan Secret Space inside the San Diego Convention Center for even more Hello Kitty fun!
