  • MORGAN MANSION: A Queen Anne house was built in 1896 on the site of the former United States Hotel which burned down, was rebuilt, and burned down a second time.
  • ST JAMES CHURCH: Also known as the Red Church, at the north end of the street was built in 1860. St. James Episcopal Church, the seventh parish of the Protestant Episcopal Church in California, is the oldest Episcopal Church building in the state.
  • TUOLUMNE COUNTY COURTHOUSE: In 1898 on the same site of an old courthouse a new structure with a distinctive clock tower was built. A lumber baron who lived across Yaney Avenue from the courthouse wanted the front of the courthouse to face his home instead of a side of the building, and used his influence on the County Board of Supervisors. Located one block west of Washington Street, Tuolumne County Courthouse was built in 1898. The distinctive yellow pressed brick structure is still used today.
