As 2016 comes to a close California mountain resorts are turning the corner (into 2017) with high hopes for lots of snow. They’re jazzed and looking forward to hosting thousands of visitors during peak holidays, Christmas through New Year’s Day.

Mammoth Lakes: Mountain Tours at Mammoth Mountain and Kids Activities with Woolly through Dec.28. New Year’s Eve parties, too!
Tahoe South: Starting Dec.22 Heavenly Village features ice sculptors, carolers, and a 16-foot interactive snow globe where kids can get their photos taken with Santa. On Dec.31 ring in the New Year with an outdoor concert, a unique 9 p.m. ‘Gondola’ ball drop and an explosive fireworks show.
