How Hot Is It In California?

The National Weather Service announced that an excessive heat warning is in effect before the 4th of July holiday arrives in 2013. An atmospheric furnace over the interior West with heat reaching dangerous levels and setting records in some California cities, is expected to be exceedingly hot and prolonged. The elderly and children are most susceptible to heat exhaustion which has the potential to be life threatening. Heat exhaustion symptoms include nausea, profuse sweating, dizziness and headaches. Heat stroke symptoms include unconsciousness, deliriousness and dry red skin. Death can occur when the body reaches or exceeds 106 degrees.
