There’s a new pro at the chopping block in Napa Valley’s beloved steak restaurant, PRESS (pressnapavalley.com). The farm-driven, steak-focused Napa Valley destination is now under the culinary direction of new executive chef Trevor Kunk, who hails from James Beard Award-winning Blue Hill New York. Famous red wines of the Napa Valley with the finest prime dry-aged beef grilled over almond and cherry wood, locally raised lamb and pork, and wood-fired rotisserie chicken are favorites. The breath-taking vineyard setting includes indoor and outdoor seating with large fireplaces and a hand-crafted walnut bar. Two gardens on the property provide fresh-picked herbs, vegetables and fruits for meals, in addition to carefully selected farm sources. A must-try is the Scharffen Berger chocolate souffle for two!
Nearby wineries in St. Helena include Charter Oak , Hall Winery and the old-fashioned fun event, the Fall Grape Stomp.
