Sandcastle Festival Scoop

This weekend marks the beginning of sandcastle festivals when Crab Cove in Alameda hosts its annual Sandcastle Festival on June 7, 2014. The event is open to novices, advanced builders and every skill level and age from kids to adults. Stay tuned for developments about Imperial Beach, home to what was the US Sandcastle Open. The city is planning to bring a festival back, though not as big as the former production which lasted 30 years till 2011. With sponsorship from the San Diego port they’re hoping to produce a sandcastle festival in July 2o14. Sandcastle events in June take place in Arcata, Carlsbad and Eureka.
