You’ve heard of the Bed Races, Outhouse Races and let’s not forget the annual Pillow Fights each fall in Rohnert Park. But in our book the most unique race among the crazy competitions is Kinetic Sculpture Race from Arcata to Ferndale on Memorial Weekend. At this event teams must create seaworthy race vehicles capable of traveling 42 miles over three days of grueling and hilarious obstacles. Oh, don’t forget to apply originality in the design of your vehicle. Ventura also has a kinetic race a few months down the road but it’s not like this one. This is the granddaddy of them all!
