Upcoming Hat Celebrations!

Do you know?

  • It’s estimated that Disneyland has sold over 90 million Mickey Mouse ears (hats).
  • Hats have been worn for at least 2,500 years – but probably longer.
  • National Hat Day is Jan. 15; but there is also an International Hat Day, Red Hat Day, Felt Hat Day, Silly Hat Day and hat days celebrated in Australia and elsewhere.
  • The biggest hat sales occur for these holidays: St. Patrick’s Day, Independence Day, New Year’s, Christmas, Easter.
  • Over 1 million hats are worn at California beaches on the most popular beach days of the year. The hats range from ball caps and sun hats to straw lifeguard style hats.
