Lavender is growing beautifully this spring and is expected to really show its stuff by June 2016. This fragrant crop that can be used in foods, distilled for its oil that many use for sinus problems, natural deodorant, home decor or as a bug repellent, to name a few, has a growing fan base of people learning about its esthetic properties.

Highland Springs Resort Lavender Festival in June shows just how popular lavender is — thousands flock to Cherry Valley (Riverside County) to experience the farm life, take horse-drawn cart rides through the lavender fields, and dine on lavender cookies, cakes and teas.  The best way to experience lavender is to visit a farm where you can see first-hand how growers are over-the-top, passionate about their special crop.
