It’s snowing in Carlsbad, the North San Diego beach destination that caters to kids. Realizing that many of California’s youth have never experienced snow, Legoland California has built an ice skating rink, sledding hills and features tons of snow where children can learn to build snowmen! From Nov. 22, 2014 to Jan. 4, 2015 the theme park shifts its Lego gears in an event called Holiday Snow Days and Winter Nights, which feature a 30-foot tall Christmas tree created out of more than 245,000 forest green Duplo bricks, adorned with more than 400 LEGO ornaments. 7-foot tall snow-covered tube runs for children to slide down and a snow-play area where families can throw snowballs at themed targets and build snowmen using LEGO accessories guarantee that kids will enjoy all the sensations of snow without the negative stuff like frozen fingers, toes and noses. The average daytime air temperature at Legoland’s snow paradise is 68 degrees.  If they get too cold, head over to the Carlsbad Premium Outlets practically across the street to buy clothes at kids stores: Gap, Baby Gap Outlet, Carter’s, Gymboree Outlet, OshKosh B’gosh, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store and Stride Rite Keds Sperry.
