More than 350,000 visitors are expected to experience the joy of San Diego’s largest free community festival at Balboa Park December Nights, the nation’s premier holiday festival taking place December 5 and 6, 2014. And what a party it’s expected to be. Entertainment includes dancers performing excerpts of Nutcracker Ballet, belly dancers, poinsettia displays, Canopy of Lights, House of India and House of China, A Christmas Carol, Santa Claus, gingerbread making, Civic Organist Carol Williams performing holiday songs at Spreckels Pavilion, entertainment inside and outside some 15 museums, St. Mark’s Carillon Hand-bell Choir, a Swedish Santa Lucia Procession, puppet shows, Gay Men’s Chorus, cloggers, Swamp Critters, blues bands, Rockin’ Cranberries, La Fiesta Danzantes…the list goes on & on. San Diego is California’s favorite beach destination and Balboa Park is the jewel of the city, especially when lit up with holiday glow for the annual December Nights. When visiting you can head over to Hotel del Coronado for ice skating on the beach. Lovin’ winter without frostbite!
