This spring the The City of Los Angeles has compiled a list of Easter Egg Hunts — 76 of them for the public to enjoy!

The second largest city in the U.S. with close to 4 million residents ranks #66 most populated city in the world (Shanghai is #1 with over 24 million residents.)  How do large municipalities provide recreational services to the masses? In L.A. the parks & rec department operates in 15 Districts with recreation centers offering after school activities, vacation camps, senior services and special events.

Interesting!

  • Less than 4% of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks Egg Hunts charge a fee.
  • Egg Hunts range from Venice or Cabrillo Beach to Downtown Pershing Square (pictured).
  • Activities range from bounce houses and face painting to photos with Easter Bunny, movies, carnivals, coloring and crafts, musical entertainment and even food trucks.
  • L.A. parks host many events including St. Patrick’s Day Party, Holiday Ice Rink and free Summer Concerts at Pershing Square.
