BUENA PARK, CALIF. — In the shadow of Knott’s Berry Farm this weekend at Peak Park you can ride a Ferris wheel or carousel within view of Xcelerator. And, instead of eating Knott’s Chicken Dinner with boysenberry pie, you can chomp on finger-lickin’ ribs, chicken nuggets, pizza and burgers chased with half a Marie Callender’s chocolate cream pie for just 50 cents in the pie eating contest! Over at Knott’s Ghost Town you’d be watching a blacksmith make horseshoes or ‘chew the fat’ with Sad Eye Joe in the hoosegow. Instead, you’re shaking hands with Sheriff Silverado Sam and competing in a the horseshoe contest. Silverado Days festival which raises over $100,000 for those in need gets the blessing of Knott’s, which happens to be a sponsor.
There are so many good deeds going down at this free admission event that it warms your heart… but be warned with a song that Waylon & Willie made famous!
Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys.
Don’t let ’em pick guitars or drive them old trucks.
Let ’em be doctors and lawyers and such.
Mamas don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys.
