By sheer numbers alone California maintains the biggest roster of marching band competitions, festivals and participation in parades of any state in the U.S. Often overlooked as a form of entertainment, marching band events fill the gap for music fans who may feel Fall season is a bit of a let-down as the outdoor music festivals wind down. Band competitions seldom cost more than $15 admission.
