MFG Day American Made 5k Run

When an American company, Kit-Cat Clock, sought U.S. grown flowers for its Rose Parade float there were few to be had. The effort to find local flower growers was a real eye opener. Likewise, a company wanted to purchase a large quantity of American flags made in the USA– most are made in China, as the purchasing agent discovered.  Do you think it’s time to bring manufacturing jobs back to California & America?  Our clothing, cars and computers are mostly made elsewhere–it’s not easy finding and buying “Made in America” or “Made in California” products.

However, a grassroots movement is bringing public awareness through events such as the MFG Day American Made 5k Run on October 3, 2015. The fun run takes place at NTC Park, 2455 Cushing Rd, San Diego, CA. Cost: $0 – $35. Volunteers and sponsors can contact scott@raceoperations.com or sign up as a participant at http://reshoringinstitute.org/funrun15

“We hope that people become aware about the importance of ‘Made in America’ and at the very least look twice before ordering online or shopping in the store,” says Scott Abbott, National Operations Director at Race Operations.
