This weekend in California several special music festivals are taking place on rivers and you can’t go wrong no matter which direction you head for. The well known Reggae on the River is held in the world’s tallest redwood forests near Piercy at French’s Camp. It’s a weekend of community, camping and reggae all day and into the night on the Eel River in Humboldt County. Meanwhile on the South Yuba River, Guitarfish Festival shares an inspiring setting in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is taking place at at Cisco Grove Campground in Placer County. Other music festivals this weekend include Burnin’ Mad in San Diego, Bach Festival in Carmel, Hard Summer in South El Monte, Petaluma Music Festival at their fairgrounds, and the Oakland Art + Soul.
