Music Moves You
If you hear humming in your head, it’s because there’s so much music surrounding you. Of 482 incorporated cities in California, close to 75% host summer concerts, a sure-fire way to get people out into the parks for healthier living. This weekend there will be over 100 free summer concerts performed in parks, on streets, and in outdoor amphitheaters in California. Free weekend concerts will range from symphonies to patriotic tunes while the majority of bands will play songs of popular artists from the 70s to today. Not much has changed — Rock is still king, Jazz is less popular but going strong, and Country music has a faithful audience at fairs and rodeos, especially. If your city or town doesn’t have a concert series, you can urge them to and provide names of potential sponsors. No excuses, just music! Here are some weekend music festivals.
