West Marin Food and Farm Tours offers the new Quattro Formaggio Tour for spring 2014 providing a look at the incredible diversity of cheeses made in Point Reyes. Its cheese history can be traced to 1857 when pioneer Clara Steele hired an Indian man to rope some of the wild cattle that grazed on her land. She milked the cows and with a recipe from a cookbook that belonged to her English grandmother began making cheese. The Quattro Formaggio Tour introduces guests to four artisan cheesemakers for tastes of cow, sheep, goat and water buffalo cheeses. Other popular tours and farm dinners are offered by West Marin Food and Farm tours as well. Call: (414) 599-9222, foodandfarmtours.com

Don’t forget about Petaluma Artisan Cheese Festival held in the spring!
