Her Royal Majesty Queen Veronika MeowMeowzz, Car Pool DeVille, Radioactive Chickenheads, Code Blue DeFibs, Flying Baby Naptime Aerialists, Crimebo the Clown & Dr. Morbius, Motorized Furniture, and legendary Doo Dah house band, Snotty Scotty & the Hankies are gearing up for this weekend’s 38th annual Doo Dah Parade. The parade is the highlight to a wacky day of parties, food, bands and the same location as the Rose Parade which comes down Colorado Boulevard 5 1/2 weeks later. Known as the twisted sister of the conventional Rose Parade, The Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade began as a grassroots event in 1978 to gain national attention for its eccentric and, often, irreverent satire. Believe it or not, it’s still crazy as ever, and free to see. The public can apply to participate with an entry, too. Instead of costing thousands of dollars, it’s around 10 bucks.
