Los Rios Rancho in “Apple Country,” or Oak Glen,  is having their annual Apple Butter Festival this weekend.

How would you like to step back in time to simpler days & ways? You can try your hand at corn grinding,  take a hayride, learn how to build an 1800s log cabin and press cider! It’s the best.

In addition to learning and seeing and tasting so many new things, you can listen to old-time music from bands such as Grits & Grady, Rocky Neck Bluegrass, Foothill Ramblers and the house band. The Riley’s Mountaineers band will pick, fiddle, and sing traditional bluegrass, Western, and gospel tunes. The annual Apple Butter Festival goes all weekend (Nov. 29-December 1, 2013) but the Apple Butter Hoedown is only on Saturday night. During that evening of food and entertainment expect to see some old-fashioned, kick-up-your-heels polkas, quadrilles, reels, and waltzes.
