Palm Springs Aerial Tramway hit a milestone recently, celebrating its 50th birthday. Actress Lindsay Wagner is excited to be throwing the switch to light the valley during this special 50th year of tram services & rides.

On September 12, 1963 Governor Edmund Brown cut the ribbon that inaugurated the first official Tram ride. Today nearly 17 million visitors have taken the 10 minute journey to the Mountain Station where they enjoy 2 restaurants, viewpoints, gift shops, natural history exhibit and 14,000-acres of pristine forest that is the Mount San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness Area.  In addition to providing thousands of rides to visitors enjoying trips to Palm Springs and the desert, the attraction hosts special Thanksgiving Dinner options and a fabulous, celebrity holiday Lighting Ceremony. See pstramway.com for prices and details.

Actress Lindsay Wagner will light the entire valley by throwing the switch on December 1, 2013 at the Palm Springs Lighting Ceremony. Best remembered as the Bionic Woman, Wagner’s earlier roles were smaller parts in shows such as Adam-12, Marcus Welby, The Rockford Files and eventually the Six Million Dollar Man. She’s recently played Dr. Vanessa Calder in episodes of Warehouse 13 on SyFy Channel.
