What are you doing today, November 28, 2015?

  • If you’re in Lewiston, you’d be a fool not to enjoy the free bridge lighting ceremony with fireworks to celebrate Christmas. Lightings abound in Copperopolis, Dorrington, Huntington Beach, Palo Alto, Perris, Reedley and Vallejo.
  • Yucaipans are smelling the fresh-made apple butter and they’re coming in droves to Riley’s Los Rios Rancho to get some at the annual Apple Butter Festival.
  • If you love a Russian, don’t miss beautiful Ekaterina Bortiakova of Kazan, Tatarstan. She’s Moscow Ballet’s principal ballerina performing in the Great Russian Nutcracker in San Francisco today, and Fresno tomorrow. Other Nutcrackers are happening in Arcadia and Rohnert Park.
  • Who says a Steamroller isn’t a blast — especially when it goes by the name, Mannheim, and it’s a band performing holiday favorites such as Joy to the World in Modesto today.
  • If you love a parade there’s an old fashioned town in California sending out an invitation to come visit and see their parade today in Angels Camp, Elk Grove, Murrieta, Hollister, Santa Paula and Yreka.
  • Gotta Skate? Head for ice rinks in Long Beach, Los Angeles, Paradise, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, San Mateo, Santa Monica, Twain Harte, Walnut Creek and Woodland Hills.
