Dodge Ball, Jump Rope, Yo-Yo, Disc Golf and Badminton are Old School sports you may have played or participated in during your youth. Do you remember when? These low-tech games and sports never went away and for those who would like to play, California’s the place!

  • JUMP ROPE: This weekend the U.S. National Jump Rope Championship takes place in Long Beach. You can attend the event at the Convention Center June 26-29, 2014 and watch the incredible jumpers work the ropes like magic.
  • DODGE BALL: There are more than 20 dodge ball leagues in California from the Bay Area to the border of Mexico.
  • YO-YO: The National Yo-Yo Championships take place in Chico Oct. 4, 2014.
  • DISC GOLF: We still call it Frisbee, and this weekend, there’s a Frisbee (Disc Golf) Tournament, King of the Lake, June 27-29 in the Tahoe area.
  • BADMINTON: California Badminton Camp began last week in Fremont. You can sign up and improve your game.
