One of the most unique places to experience Thanksgiving and Christmas in whole new light is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. It whisks gondola passengers up the face of the San Jacinto mountains for a brisk 10 minute ride, ascending to 8,500 feet, where guests disembark. The ride, itself, is cause to celebrate. The views of Palm Springs and the desert floor below are spectacular! Why rush back down when you can have your Thanksgiving Dinner in the clouds? A special tree lighting ceremony held each year at the mountain top features singer/entertainer Jack Jones in 2014 (Lindsay Wagner was last year’s celebrity.) Jones, a two time Grammy Award winner known for popular songs such as “The Love Boat”, will pull the switch and light the tree. The public is invited free. You just have to pay for your tram ride.
