Is there more to life than wine? Ask a child, or better yet, head for Sierra Oro Farm Trails Passport Weekend Oct. 8-9, 2016, kids invited! The Butte County, Calif. event held every October on Columbus Day Weekend features 34 venues and enough wine tasting to satisfy. But you won’t want to miss opportunities to sample fresh edibles such as Harrison’s California Chestnuts – Gridley, Mt. Ida Mandarins – Oroville, and tree-ripened cherries and peaches at Noble Orchards – Paradise. Cheese, dairy, honey and meats are all available for tasting with your passport. Best of all, kids and adults get to visit with healthy chickens, goats, llamas and other barnyard animals along the trail. Tickets may sell out before the event. See: sierraoro.org
