The Cornish-inspired “pasty” popular with California’s gold miners over 150 years ago has seen a resurgence with sports fans as the perfect food for the big ball game.  “A Meal in a Crust” English meat pie contains cubed carrots, potatoes, diced onion, seasonings and meat baked in a flour crust. Takeout shop, Pasty Kitchen, sells them hot & fresh daily by the hundreds.  Sports fans purchase pasties by the 50s and 100s for their Super Bowl parties and other functions. A large pasty is less than $5, satisfying the hungriest construction workers that stop by for lunch (small pasty is less than $3).  When you visit Disneyland this shop is approx. 8 miles straight down Katella. Tip: Get the Beef Pie!  Location: 3641 Katella Ave, Los Alamitos, California 90720. Phone (562) 431-9747
