This weekend when the rainbow colors fly at the annual Long Beach Pride Parade and Festival, the celebration which attracts up to 100,000 people includes headliner performances by Patti LaBelle and Salt-N-Pepa. The festival takes place along the oceanfront and features family entertainment, food vendors and concerts throughout the weekend of May 16-17, 2015. The parade is free to see on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m., while the festival admission is $20 day. Pride events, once perceived as catering primarily to the LBGT (lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender) crowd have attempted to create a welcoming atmosphere for the entire community. Oftentimes the events serve as fundraisers for special causes.
