Paul McCartney Farewell to Candlestick Concert

Pictured: 50 years of Paul McCartney. Born June 18, 1942 in Liverpool, England. McCartney performed in John Lennon’s band, the Quarrymen, 1957–1960. The Beatles launched in 1960 and disbanded in 1970. McCartney has performed solo and in collaborations with other musicians for over 40 years. In March 1997, Queen Elizabeth II knighted him for services to music.

Sir Paul McCartney will return to San Francisco August 14 to play Farewell to Candlestick: The Final Concert. This once-in-a-lifetime occasion is sure to be doubly bittersweet as Paul closes the same iconic venue where The Beatles played their final concert date on August 29, 1966. Paul’s most recent visit to San Francisco was in 2013  headlining Outside Lands festival.

Tickets for Paul McCartney’s Farewell to Candlestick: The Final Concert go on sale Monday, May 5 at 10 a.m. American Express Card Members were offered opportunities to purchase tickets before the general public beginning Thursday, May 1 at 10 a.m.  through Sunday, May 4 at 10 p.m. McCartney also performs at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on August 10, 2014.   People have reported buying tickets to that concert through special codes on various websites. There are posts about ticket acquisition on ticketmaster.com and Facebook. VIP tickets have been listed at around $2,000 – 3,000 for front row seats.
