Pirates Invade California

The Pirates of the Caribbean must have escaped Disneyland this weekend. We saw them over at the Long Beach Pirate Festival  (through June 30, 2013)  on Belmont Pier and beach in an event where kids (and adults) step into action roles and feeling of being pirates.   Once “hooked”, they tend to lead a lifetime of pirate silliness.  For instance, the Michigan Senate recently adopted a resolution to officially recognize September 19, 2013, as International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Pirates Dinner Adventure in Buena Park is open year-round, offering pirate dining and fun. Presented on an authentically replicated 18th century Spanish galleon anchored in a 250,000 gallon indoor lagoon, it sets the stage for an astonishing display of special effects, wizardry, aerial artistry, swashbuckling swordplay and dynamic duels. Tickets are sold online for dinner shows.

Admission to Long Beach Pirate Festival is free and family friendly.. Brush up on your pirate lingo!.
