Predicting a President – Who Won?

I have been interested in psychic claims ever since I met Peter Hurkos years ago. I and another reporter were assigned to write a story focused on his prediction failures. Though we didn’t tell Hurkos our intent when we met him in his Studio City home, he threw us off our game by giving readings. WINNERS

  • Prof. Allan Lichtman correctly said Donald Trump would win. He claims a 30 year record of correctly calling winning presidents based on an historical study using 13 questions.

LOSERS

  • Moody’s Analytics says it has never missed on a presidential election prediction. On September 30 Moody’s said: Democratic nominee gathers 326 electoral votes, while the Republican lags well behind, with 212. (reported by CNN & Reuters)
  • Petrene Soames, psychic and paranormal expert: “The outcome to this year’s U.S. presidential election is already predestined and Hillary Clinton will win.” (press release)
  • Celebrity psychic Jesse Bravo: “It’s gonna turn out exactly the way I thought, which is that Hillary’s gonna win by a major, major number. It’s not even going to be a competition.” (media interview)
  • Sandra Alvim: “The stars are going to align for Clinton to be Lady Luck this November. ” (media interview)
