Find Your Way to San Jose for Love and Marriage

As Valentine’s Day approaches on February 14, we’re taking a look at the love and marriage.
There’s no guarantee that you will find a mate but when statisticians at Pew Research began crunching the numbers a while back they determined that the San Jose – Sunnyvale – Santa Clara area (Silicon Valley) was a woman’s best bet for finding marriage material, namely men. Ranking #1 in the nation for employed, unmarried men age 25-34 yrs., there were 114 working men for every 100 women.

- 1. Sunnyvale – San Jose – Santa Clara 114 men to 100 women
- 2. Denver 101 men
- 3. Carlsbad – San Diego 99 men
- 4. Minneapolis 98 men
- 5. Seattle 96 men
- 6. San Francisco – Oakland 93 men
- 7. Washington DC 92 men
- 8. Los Angeles – Long Beach 91 men
- 9. Pittsburg, Orlando 90 men
Worst places: Memphis, Jacksonville, Detroit, Charlotte, NC and Philadelphia
Love & Marriage Statistics
- 50% or half of adults are married in U.S.
- Young men outnumber young women 115 to 100
- Number of young men who work drops to 85 per 100 women
- 88% say love is top reason to marry
- 34% unmarried men say they lack of financial readiness
- 27% singles admit to using dating websites
- 50% chance of divorce on 1st marriage rises to 73% chance on 3rd marriage
