I Madonnari Street Painting Festival in San Luis Obispo

Published on: September 06, 2012

I Madonnari Street Painting Festival takes place each year in September at Old Mission Plaza, which is transformed with colorful, large-scale murals created by ‘madonnari’ artists. The name comes from 16th century Italian painters who created murals made of chalk with themes of the Madonna. There are plenty of art festivals  throughout California.
