The 1960s-built Ports O’ Call overlooking the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro, is getting a new name and $150 million revitalization of shops, restaurants and waterfront space in a 50-year lease agreement between the City of Los Angeles and San Pedro Public Market LLC. The project is expected to be completed in 2020.
The Port of Los Angeles, a self-supporting department of the City of Los Angeles, has invested $600 million in related projects such as Wilmington Waterfront Park, the Harbor Blvd. Parkway Promenade, Downtown Harbor and the renovations of Cabrillo Way Marina. It expects to invest $400 million more in the next 10 years for street improvements, a promenade and a public access dock project for recreational boaters. Read more…>
