Memorial Day at California’s Nine National Cemeteries

Memorial Day, which is observed on the last Monday of May, is more than festivals, picnics, vacations and the launch of summer fun. Memorial Day commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service. In observance of the holiday volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at national cemeteries, creating an impressive display evoking emotion for many who visit the cemetery memorials. California has nine National Cemeteries shown in photos. Here is the list of these cemeteries and their 2016 Memorial Day events the public can attend.
