Jack Creek Farms in Templeton launches the scarecrow season this weekend with their annual contest and month-long showcase, back by popular demand. Citing avoidance of rain (apparently a problem in past years) they moved the event forward to August. However, it’s not looking like rain will be a problem this year, though a lack of it will be. The Threshing Bee was cancelled due to drought conditions. The public can stop by the farm stand to see scarecrows on display August 24 through September 26, 2014.
