Shook Up Celebrations in California

People were all shook up when Elvis first began swinging his hips and singing songs that rocked the nation so many years ago. The King of Rock & Roll has never disappeared from the hearts and minds of fans spanning several generations. Today at California’s summer concerts in parks acts continue to present the look and sound of this musical legend.

This week “shook up” fans are invited to celebrations such as  Winters Earthquake Festival, celebrating the city’s quake that rocked their world, destroying most the downtown.

Then there’s the full immersion Elvis Festival on Main Street, Garden Grove. The FREE all-day tribute August 26, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. is held near the anniversary of Presley’s death (August 16, 1977.)

ELVIS FESTIVAL

  • Kirk Wall, the Festival’s ambassador sings like the King in traditional format but also brings his fiddle playing and country roots to the stage performing Elvis songs bluegrass style with his band Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies, regulars at Knott’s Berry Farm.
  • Scot Bruce performs The Early Years of Presley’s rock and roll hits.
  • Sun to Heaven, produced by award winning tribute artist Martin Anthony of Murrieta, highlights Presley’s start at Sun Records.
  • Other Elvis singers include James King, Elvis Pham; Dave Hoover; Lloyd Aron Douglas; Brad Carrow; Donovan Chavez   and Sean Martin.
