Shot Girls Auditions – Oktoberfest Traditions
“BEERS, BRATS, BANDS & BABES!”
Rarer than actors in Hollywood are the ladies who qualify to become Oktoberfest shot girls, an annual tradition in Huntington Beach, Calif. Tryouts take place August 16 & 23, 2017 at Old World Village (oldworld.ws). Those who qualify must wear big smiles, carry heavy trays filled with shot drinks, be able to make small talk & change, and wear dindl skirts — the short kind. They also must go on location and make appearances throughout the region to promote the annual Oktoberfest which takes place this year from September 10 to October 29. Although Huntington Beach is not rare in its love of Oktoberfest, it is one of the few cities in California with an actual village dedicated to Bavarian dining and entertainment. Others can be found in Torrance and Anaheim. However, Californians dig Oktoberfest in a big way, so you’ll find celebrations in cities throughout the state. Unpack the lederhosen and practice your Chicken Dance. Oktoberfest soon will be back!
