In addition to California Parks turning 150, Sierra City turns 150 and is having a party this weekend. The small mountain town in Sierra County is located along Highway 49 next to the North Yuba River. Sierra City is inside the Tahoe National Forest and enjoys a spectacular view of the Sierra Buttes rising 4,000 feet above Main Street! The Centennial on June 21-22, 2014 includes street entertainment with a Craft Fair, Mock Jail, Gunfight Reenactments, Town and Cemetery Tours, Kentucky Mine (left photo) Tours and a BBQ.
