Special Olympics World Games Athletes in California

Before the 7,000 Special Olympics athletes compete at the 2015 World Games in Southern California July 25-August 2, 2015, Special Olympics delegations from around the world are being treated to three memorable days of recreation, entertainment, and cultural exchange at more than 80 Host Towns. Cities and destinations hosting athletes range from Solvang to South Pasadena, providing international visitors opportunities to enjoy California’s famous beaches, mountains, theme parks, deserts and more. It’s a once in a lifetime experience not only for Special Olympians but for their hosts as well.

Dylan Wescott, who works at Surf City Store on the Huntington Beach Pier said, “I’ve never met nicer people than these Australian athletes. They’re so polite, proud of their country and thrilled to be here. I hope they each win a Gold Medal!”  Read more…>
