Spring Break California Beach Sunset
Contributor Chris MacDonald took this picture of a richly-hued sunset along the coast yesterday (see more sunsets) and said that tourist season has begun at California’s beaches. Spring Break officially begins at Arizona State University on Sunday, March 8, 2015, the same day Californians roll the clock forward one hour at 2 a.m. for Daylight Savings Time, which Arizona doesn’t observe. California’s border-state neighbors and top visitors like to escape the heat, especially when the average daytime temperature in July is 106° F in Phoenix! At Southern California beaches enjoy unseasonably warm weather (82°F) this Sunday, followed by a cooling trend. The historical average is 68-71 degrees in March, while Palm Springs averages 82-85 degrees.
