Party Like It’s St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin CA

Pictured is the REAL DUBLIN (Ireland,) which celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with four days of merriment, including a parade on Sunday, March 17, 2019, 12 p.m.  The event begins on Parnell Square, traveling along O’Connell Street, Westmoreland, Dame, Lord Edward, Nicholas, Patrick and Kevin Streets, ending near St. Stephen’s Green.

If you happen to be in Ireland for this annual celebration, wear your Pride as you watch Palm Springs High, Spirit of the Sands Travel Band, march by! Representing California, USA, the band under the direction of Brian Ingelson, was previously named a Grammy Foundation Signature School Community Awards Winner. The band has performed all over the world but this is the first time it performs in Ireland.

In addition to Craft Brews & Food Fair, the Greening of the City in which green lights illuminate Dublin’s buildings at night, Festival Village on Merrion Square featuring a Gaeltacht area, circus, concerts and more, the fest continues through Monday.

So how’s Dublin, California celebrating St. Patrick’s Day? The Bay Area city named for Irish settlers Michael Murray and Jeremiah Fallon who came here in 1850, and was founded on the aspirations of emigrants from the Emerald Isle, plans a three day celebration with a gala on Friday, parade on Saturday, festival at Civic Center on Saturday and Sunday, and Shamrock Run on Sunday morning.

Besides its Irish name, the Dublin, CA festival also enjoys corporate sponsor Guinness, known for its dry stout that originated in the brewery of Arthur Guinness at St. James’s Gate, Dublin, Ireland, in 1759. It is one of the most successful beer brands worldwide.
