Star Party Bigger Than Oscars!

BREAKING NEWS: Big Bear Lake just announced a new StarLight Festival in which stargazers are invited to gather to watch the stars–and we’re not talking Leonardo DiCaprio, Bruce Dern, Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett. That OTHER star party (Academy Awards on Mar. 2, 2014) is just a bunch of actors hoping to win awards for mimicking life. The REAL Star Party takes place in the sky. How insignificant are we tiny specks of stardust in the cosmos? Listen to some stars to find out:
- Dr. Story Musgrave, a United States Hall of Fame Astronaut who flew in six space shuttle missions in the 80s and 90s
- Dr. Seth Shostak, a Senior Astronomer at SETI Institute and Chairman of the International Academy of Astronautics who is best known for his work analyzing radio signals for extraterrestrial intelligence
- Dr. Linda Spilker, JPL Scientist who is best known for her work with the Cassini Mission of Saturn and is considered the most knowledgeable in her field regarding Saturn’s rings
