The Danish Village of Solvang last weekend completed their taste of the city event, but that’s just the start of Scandinavian celebrations in California. The Scandinavian Festival (left & right photos) in Thousand Oaks is held April 20-21, 2013. Want to learn how to make a Krumkake or play a game of Krubb? Perhaps you’d like to taste some sweet, delicious Aebleskivers or Swedish Pancakes. You’re in the right place!  Next in Kingsburg, the city with the funky water tower shaped like a teapot, the Swedish Festival takes place on May 17-18, 2013. You can sample the Svenska pancakes, watch the parade, the Maypole Dance and hilarious Viking Bed Races!  If you manage to miss both these events, there’s still a chance to let loose at Solvang’s Danish Days September 20-22, 2013. To finish the spectacular year of being Danish, Solvang Julefest Parade takes place on December 7, 2013 with additional festivities in the week before and after.
