Is Disneyland saluting the arrival of Harry Potter to Southern California this April?

The heat is on as Universal Studios Hollywood theme park unveils of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter on April 7, 2016.  Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride, attractions, food and merchandise have a proven track record at 11th & 12th ranked Universal Studios theme parks in Orlando, where you can also see Marvel comic characters Captain America and Spider-Man. In California 17th ranked Universal Studios Hollywood is getting better all the time, thanks to $1.6 billion earmarked for a 25-year park expansion that began in 2013.  Universal Studios theme parks make up less than 2% of total Comcast revenue, and Disney theme parks make up approx. 33% of that company’s revenue.

The release of the movie, “Captain America: Civil War,” brings Captain America and Spider-Man to Disney California Adventure starting April 3. Universal Studios Hollywood used to own licensing right to these Marvel Comics cartoon characters but gave them up in 2007, while Universal Orlando hung onto them and continues to own licensing  rights even after Disneyland bought Marvel Entertainment in 2009.
