Unusual Pumpkin Patches

In the month leading up to Halloween pumpkins are a hot commodity — stores put up signs, “We have pumpkins!”, to satisfy the eager public’s need to get them. Communities begin their final preparations for pumpkin fests, people pick them, they cook them, eat them, smash them, decorate them and oh yeah, they even throw them into swimming pools. It’s unknown who first came up with the idea of a Floating Pumpkin Patch but it has caught on in California where a handful of parks & recreation departments are opting for cool waters of municipal swimming pools to inspect and pick pumpkins. Here are cities where Floating Pumpkin Patches are all the rage!
