Chip Yost, KTLA reporter and Orange County Bureau Chief, gave the weather report on-location at OC beaches in between storms on May 14. Chip’s passion is investigative reporting. He won an Emmy for a news story in which he tracked down fugitives from a corrections facility and he’s also won awards for coverage of squatters taking over homes in an upscale Riverside neighborhood and a business allegedly not fulfilling customer orders. Traveling in a company supplied mini-van with a staff of 1 (himself,) Yost exemplifies the meaner, leaner news business of today. He sets up his own cameras and lighting equipment, operates them and reports the news in do-it-yourself fashion. So what does Chip say about the weekend weather? No rain! In fact, most of California will see clearing throughout the weekend. Those music festivals we’ve been telling you about, the beer festivals, food festivals, and cultural events should be great. Go for it! That’s our weather report.
