California runs boast all kinds of terrain and visual displays such as the dramatic Big Sur Run that passes over a famous bridge next to the Pacific Coast. But one of the most unusual is Santa Maria’s Bull Canyon Run. It happens one Saturday in May (May 16, 2015) with the race course taking place along Bull Canyon Road, a scenic, meandering country road passing by farms. Occasionally you’ll see cows & bulls, but you’ll also notice avocado orchards, California poppies, birds, bees, ground squirrels, and the blue Central Coast skies. The 5K and 10K event began in 1999 and was an instant hit.
