One of the most fun things to write about and promote is the FREE West Hollywood Carnaval, a humongous Halloween party with entertainment, bands, and costumes that will amaze you. Though nobody knows precisely how many people show up for the huge street party, they count on half a million each year and usually get many more! Given West Hollywood’s tolerant cultural history, its massive numbers of gay visitors, and its huge actor, model, and celebrity population, this particular evening explodes in creativity and expression. The warmer the weather, the more titillating the costumes.

“One Noir Night in West Hollywood” is the theme of the event held on Santa Monica Blvd. between Doheny Drive to La Cienega Boulevard between 6 and 11 p.m. Traffic into the area is congested and crazy — many book hotel rooms, come early, and enjoy the famous bars & clubs after the party ends.

Before the October 31 event takes place West Hollywood hosts the Halloween Spooktacular for kids at West Hollywood Park on Oct. 26, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
